Cottonball Art

Here's a fun way to add texture to your art.  Take a cottonball.  Stretch the cottonball.  Spread out the fibers.  Take light blue cardstock.  Add some glue to the back of the stretched out cottonball then place it towards the top of the cardstock.  This will create puffy white clouds with the sky as the background.  Draw details such as flowers, mountains, etc. to complete the picture.

Greeting Card Bookmarks

The next time you receive a greeting card, remember to save it.  You can make nice bookmarks from greeting cards.  Cut out your favorite image from the card. Then mount the image on a colorful cardstock.  Cut the cardstock to any shape.  Use the bookmark when you read your next favorite book or give as gifts for those who love to read.

Bamboo & Rocks

I like the combination of bamboo, rocks, & water.  The combination gives a feeling of tranquility.  I created this artwork using watercolors.

Flower Stationary

Spring's almost here! How about welcoming the spring by sending a letter to someone on your own designed stationary?  Take any sheet of paper.  Using a single hole puncher, punch a hole towards the bottom of the paper.  Skip an inch, punch another hole.  Continue until you have a few holes.  Draw the petals of a daisy around each hole.  Color the petals.  You can also design the envelope the same way.

Fire Colors

What colors inspire you?  I like the combination of colors that create a fire.  Shades of orange, red, & yellow give warmth.  Try using this color combination when drawing a sunset, campfire, or a candle flame.

Snowflake

 

Here's an easy way to draw a snowflake. Start by drawing a large "X". Then draw a large "+" through the middle.  Then draw smaller lines in different directions.  Try drawing different patterns using just lines.

Button Jewelry

What can you do with the extra buttons that come with the clothes that you purchased? Turn them into jewelry!  String the buttons on a leather or cotton cord that fits through the holes.  Add beads of your choice.  Perfect for gift giving or wearing.
