Autumn Leaves

Beach Sand Jars

What can you make with sand collected from the beach?  Take a glass jar.  Fill the jar with sand.  Add a couple of drops of food coloring.  Close the jar & shake.  Place the jar of colored sand on your office desk, kitchen counter, or your favorite place.

Butterflies & Dragonflies

Do you have a favorite flying insect such as butterflies, dragonflies, or ladybugs?  Take a sheet of paper & a pencil.  Sketch your favorite summer insect during flight.

Abstract Painting

Grab any type of paint, paintbrush, & a canvas.  Paint brush strokes in any direction on the canvas.  Use different colors.  Give your art a title once you complete the abstract painting.

Wooden Coaster Art

Blank wooden coasters can be used to create an art or painting.  Draw or paint your favorite subjects on wooden coasters.  Use Mod Podge to seal.  Add felt to the bottom of the coasters.

Floating Butterflies

Butterflies are magical as they soar through the sky with their majestic wings.  I made these cards with butterfly wings folded upwards & placed on cardstock.  This gives the illusion of the butterflies ready to take off.

Solar Eclipse 2024

My parents showed me a method to view the solar eclipse.  They placed water in a container then directed the container towards the sun.  The eclipse can be seen in the bright spot on the top with the sun.

Singing Birds

I love to listen to the birds sing during the early morning.  It's a sweet melody to wake up to.  Do you have a favorite bird?  Sketch a bird in your journal.  Add notes to illustrate the bird's color & singing tone.

Spring Flower Blossoms

The Red Barn

Green fields, a sunset, & a red barn are exhibited in the farm lifestyle.  Watercolors were used to design this farm with a red barn.  The colors were blended for shading.

Snowman Drawing

Mother Nature has brought snow & ice to most of the U.S. this week.  This is a perfect time to build & even draw your snowman.  Take a sheet of paper & a pencil.  Sketch a snowman, add a scarf, & draw snowflakes in the background.
