Watercolor Cards

I took a watercolor class at a local library.  We were given the watercolor supplies & blank greeting cards to design on.  The inspiration art was candles with Happy Birthday written in the middle.  I decided to turn my candles into vases.

A friend of mine drew a portrait of my dog Simba.  He took a photo & drew a pencil drawing.  He used a variety of shading techniques to create the illustration.

Painted Flowers

I painted the flowers with acrylic paint on soft tile squares.  I used a few strokes to paint the petals & leaves.  I added details with brown paint for additional highlights.

Short Story

 I like to write inspiring poetry.  I use illustrative words that capture the creative writing.

Valentine Cards

If you have old magazines or books, find hearts of different sizes.  Cut out the hearts.  Glue the hearts on cardstock.  Write a special Valentine's message on the inside of the card.

Writing Styles

The next time you write a letter or a card use a creative writing style.  You can try calligraphy, cursive, or create your own written characters.

Simple Paintings

I painted these designs with a few simple strokes of acrylic paint.  You can use brush strokes to paint flower petals, sun rays, leaves, and backgrounds.

Magazine Art

Magazines are a great resource for inspiration.  I love to cut images, art, & photos.  I often find thoughts or words which are inspiring.  Grab a magazine, find pictures or words to cut out, & glue them to cardstock.
