Snowman Gift Tag

You can design holiday gift tags to give as gifts.  You can draw snowmen, snowflakes, reindeer, & other holiday designs.  Add a red ribbon to the top of the tag.

Christmas Tree Drawing

Here's how you can draw a simple Christmas tree.  Draw a triangle.  Draw a rectangle under the base of the triangle.  Draw a star on top of the triangle.  Add color as the finishing touch. 

Christmas Ornaments

I love to design holiday ornaments on wooden or chipboard cutouts.  I draw snowmen, snowflakes, Christmas trees, & other holiday patterns on the ornaments.  I use a red or a blue ribbon to tie at the top of the ornament.  These are perfect for gift giving. :)

The Fearless Monkey

I love to read books on leadership & business development.  The Fearless Monkey by Dennis Heijn is an excellent book on learning how to get out of your comfort zone.  Dennis shares his stories & encounters on breaking rules to learn new skills.  I recommend reading this book.

Writing Skills

How can you develop your writing skills?  Take a sheet of paper then start writing your thoughts.  Keep writing.  Do your thoughts develop into a story, content, or an inspiring quote?  Share your written work with others on social media. 

YouTube Learning Videos

YouTube is a great platform for learning new skills.  You can find inspiring videos to get your creative juices flowing.  Do you want to learn how to draw, how to paint, or how to make greeting cards?  Search for your topic on YouTube.  

Dessert Photography

Do you love desserts as much as I do?  I took the cheesecake photo during a lunch for a social media review.  The flavor was absolutely amazing!

Orange Pumpkin

Draw a pumpkin on a sheet of paper.  Instead of using an orange color, choose your favorite color.  Color the pumpkin with the color of your choice.  Notice how the pumpkin appears with a different color.  Share your comments here.

Simple Drawings

You can start any drawing with just a line.  The line doesn't need to be straight.  Add shapes, more lines, or curves to the line.  Let your creativity flow.  What will your drawing be?   

Heart Design

I found this heart shaped rock during a walk.  I brought the rock home to create a design on it.  I used an ink marker to draw the swan & a red marker to complete the heart.

Magazine Inspirations

Have you read a magazine with inspiring quotes or words?  If you have old magazines you no longer need, cut out your favorite quotes.  Create a vision board by pasting the quotes on the board.  Place the board in your office to inspire you each day!

Leaf Drawing

A tree leaf is a good subject to draw.  Find a leaf that intrigues you.  Study the pattern of the leaf.  Look at the fine details.  Draw the leaf outline then fill in the details using a pencil.  Color the drawing using the shades of the leaf color.

Construction Paper Cards

Greeting cards can be created with construction paper.  Choose your favorite color, fold the paper in half, then draw a design on the front.  You can also draw a matching design on the envelope.

Finding Inspiration

Inspiration can be found while listening to music, driving to your favorite vacation place, or even while shopping at a mall.  Keep a journal with you.  Write your inspirations as they come to you.  Create a work of art, write a book, or even share your thoughts on social media.

Creative Thinking

Have you ever seen a commercial that caught your attention?  Or a billboard that promoted a captivating message?  You can take a creative thought & put a spin on it to create a call of action.  Get your audience to react with your creative thinking!

Poetry Writing

Do you have a favorite personal quote?  Write your own quote on a cardstock with calligraphy.  Give the card to someone to inspire them.

I like to search for four leaf clovers in a clover patch.  Sometimes I get lucky!  I press the clovers I find to use for artwork.

Have you traveled this summer?  Or enjoyed a nice meal at a restaurant?  Or took a boat ride on the river?  Write your summer highlights in a journal.  Draw artwork or add photos to highlight the memories.

Capture The Audience

How can you capture the attention of your audience?  You can share stories, create visual storyboards, or ask questions.  Engage with your audience so that they can participate with your presentation.

Empowering Words

I like to write empowering words in calligraphy.  I illustrate my thoughts with a simple design. Write your empowering thought on a cardstock.  Give the card to someone to inspire them.

Creative Fonts

How can you convey a typed message?  You can use different font styles.  Elegant fonts are great for invitations & receptions.  Simple fonts are good for easy reading on websites.  Decorative fonts provide an artistic look.  Choose fonts that appeal to the audience you are trying to reach.

Summer Art

What inspires you during the Summer season?  Is it the beach, sunset, blooming flowers, or a ride on a kayak on the river?  Draw your summer inspiration on a sheet of paper.  Write your favorite moments along with the drawing.

Floral Design

I love to draw flowers then fill the petals with an intricate design.  Start with a basic floral shape then draw patterns inside.  Use a fine point black marker for the details.

Create Your Story

Do you have an inspiring story to tell?  Share your story through social media.  You can also  create an original story with characters.  Write your content in a book or a journal.  Add a title that captures the interest for your audience.

Spring Inspiration Board

Create an inspiration board for the Spring season.  Find pictures or photos of birds, flowers, nature, or inspiring quotes for Spring.  Glue these to the board then hang on your wall for daily encouragement.

Pressing Wild Flowers

Spring is a great time to press wild flowers.  If you find wild flowers in your yard or neighborhood park, select a few to press.  Place the flowers in between pages of an old book.  Place a heavy object on the book for a week.  After the flowers dry, store them in an envelope.  The flowers can be used for your next artwork. 

Illustrate (Without Erasers)

We often like to use an eraser when drawing to clean mistakes.  I've told my students to hide the eraser & draw without using one.  It's fine to draw outside the lines or even color outside the lines.  That's where the artistic magic occurs!  Don't worry about the mistakes.  Keep drawing & let your art unfold into a creative inspiration.

Encouraging Thoughts

Writing a note or a letter with encouraging thoughts or positive words can inspire others.  Do you like to receive handwritten notes or cards?  Share your inspiring thoughts with others on a postcard, letter, or even written on a rock. :)

Art for Spring

Spring has arrived with blooming tulips & the warmth of the sun.  I drew these on cardstock using colored pencils.  Draw tulips using a variety of Spring colors.

Books To Inspire You

Do you have a favorite book?  What were the creative elements in the book?  Did a quote inspire you?  Draw a sketch that illustrates your thoughts after reading.

Drawing Birds

The Spring season brings the flight of colorful birds.  Take a photo of your favorite bird that visits your home.  Take a sketchbook & a pencil.  Use the photo as the subject to draw the bird.  Add color & a background image to complete the art.

Card Designs

I enjoy illustrating cards.  Here are a few designs I drew using markers & colored pencils.  I also place the cards in clear envelopes to keep the cards clean & for presentation.

Paper Cards

A quick way of making a greeting card is simply by using a sheet of paper.  Take a paper of any size then fold it in half.  Draw your favorite art on the front & write a special greeting on the inside.   

Winter Snow

Which art material can you use to draw winter snow?  You can use white chalk, pastel, colored pencil, paint, or glue cotton.  Add a touch of glitter to give your snow sparkle.

Rock Balancing

Rock balancing is a form of art that requires patience.  The rocks can be balanced if you find the right point on the rock for placement.  Look for the edge or the surface of the rock to create the balance. 

Valentine Cards

Design a special Valentine's Day card to give to someone.  Write your thoughts using calligraphy.  Draw a large heart then fill the heart with smaller hearts.  Cut ideas that represent love & care from a magazine then glue to a blank card.  Or write an inspiring quote with your favorite markers.

Draw Basic Shapes

How can you draw basic shapes?  Use fruits!  Draw an oval by studying a watermelon.  Draw a moon by observing a banana.  Draw a sphere by reviewing the form of an orange.  Fruits are wonderful subjects for drawing simple shapes.

Paint: Our Universe

I took a painting class & had the opportunity to paint the universe.  I love to study the stars, planets, & galaxies.  I decided to paint the subject on astronomy.  I painted a comet, Earth, & star clusters.  I used a mixture of paint colors to create the visual effects.
