Autumn Rainbow

Which colors of autumn inspire you?  Find leaves with those colors that have fallen from trees.  Arrange the leaves on a sheet of cardstock in the form of a rainbow.  Glue the leaves.  After the glue dries, place the cardstock in a frame.  Place your autumn rainbow in your favorite room, office, or meeting space.

Halloween Story

Writing Styles

Visual Colors

I love animals.  I had to take this photo of paw prints as I walked by.  It's a simple photo that tells a story of a dog's track.  Find story moments to take photos of.  Share those on your blog too.

Fields of Lavender

What do you think of when I say, Fields of Lavender?  Do you see rows of lavender flowers or the peaceful lavender color?  Write down the first inspiration that comes to you.  Draw the inspiration in your sketchbook or journal.

Words of Expression

I enjoy writing poetry with words that come to my mind at any time.  It's a way to express thoughts, emotions, and give others the opportunity to read your words.  Start writing daily and you will notice that words will begin to flow.  Keep a journal to write when inspiration comes to you.

Simple Balloon Drawing

Balloons can be easily drawn using shapes.  Start with a circle for the main shape.  Add a half crescent moon for the reflection inside.  Add a triangle to the bottom of the balloon.  Finally add a free flowing line for the string.  Color the balloon with your favorite color.

Dragonfly Wings

During my evening walk last night, a beautiful dragonfly crossed my path.  It danced around me then took off into the evening sky.  How would you design your dragonfly wings?  Draw a dragonfly then design the wings with your inspired art!

Drawing With Shapes

Do you have a favorite shape?  I like to draw triangles with filled in patterns.  Draw your selected shape.  What do you see?  Use creative designs to fill in your shape.

I love to mix calligraphy & drawings together.  It's a great way to express words with an illustration.  

Tree Drawing

This summer take your sketchbook to a location with a variety of trees.  Trees have a natural artistic form which make a great subject to draw.  Start with the outline of the tree, then the branches, & finally add the leaves.  Use shading & light to create depth, balance, & tone.

Rose Petal Drying

Rose petals can be dried to use for art projects.  Separate petals from a rose.  Arrange the petals on a sheet of white paper.  Place several more sheets of paper on top of the petals.  Place a heavy book on top.  Let the petals dry for a couple of weeks.  Place the dried petals in a plastic bag.  Store the petals in a box away from direct sunlight.  

Summer Tulips

I love to capture photos of blooming flowers during the summer.  This tulip had beautiful light dancing on it.  It was a perfect opportunity to take a photo of both the flower & the light.

Sand Art

Create a fun piece of art with sand.  Take a cardstock of any color.  Create any pattern using glue on the cardstock.  Cover the pattern with sand.  Shake off the excess sand.  Let the art dry before hanging on a wall or placing in a frame.   If you travel to the beach, pick up some sand to create a unique art!

Written Poetry

Poetry is a great way to express thoughts, feelings, & emotions.  I like to write poems that tell a story.  Have you written a poem recently?  Share your written expressions here!

The easiest way to start the initial conversation is by asking a question.  Questions will give you more insight to an individual's interests & thoughts.  Break the ice with your conversation starter!

Card Folding

Hand folded greeting cards are wonderful to give for any occasion.  Take a sheet of cardstock.  Fold the cardstock in half.   That's it!  Design the cover of the card then write a special note on the inside.  Add your signature & contact information to the back of the card.

Beautiful wildflowers are beginning to bloom this Spring!  I love the colorful variety of wildflowers that are growing.  Find your favorite wildflower & take a photo.  Use the photo for your inspirational drawing.
