I like to start my drawings with a pencil sketch.  This allows for easy adjustments before I add color.  I drew this Buddha using shapes & lines.  Start with lines then add shapes.  Fill in the lines to create depth.

Garden Tulips

I had the opportunity to visit a local botanical gardens.  It was a perfect day for taking photos of blooming flowers.  I loved how the tulips captured the sunlight.  The yellow, orange, & green colors of this tulip were illuminated by the sun.

Blooming Spring Flowers

Flowers are beginning to bloom as the season of Spring arrives.  Take out your sketchbook & visit a local garden.  Find your favorite Spring flowers.  Begin sketching the flowers, leaves, & stems.  Look for interesting patterns & details.  Add colors after you complete your sketching.
